Violence has been a part of human society since the beginning of time. It has been used to solve problems, gain power, and express anger and frustration. At one point in history, violence was seen as a legitimate way to achieve these goals. But in recent years there has been a growing movement to denounce and condemn it in all forms. Society has changed through time ? and with it our values and acceptance of different behaviors. Today we view violence mostly in a negative light. We recognize that it can have serious consequences, both for the victim and the perpetrator. We also understand that violence is not always the answer to conflict.
