Vernal Equinox

Twice a year, on around March 21st and September 23rd, the equinox occurs when the sun is directly above the equator. During this event, both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres experience equal periods of daylight and darkness. The vernal equinox, also known as the spring equinox, falls on approximately March 20th or 21st in the Northern Hemisphere and on September 22nd or 23rd in the Southern Hemisphere.
