Description: For renal dietitians, both those working with earlier stages of CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) and those working with dialysis patients, protein is an important part of the conversation. High-biological, animal-based protein has long been encouraged as the primary source of protein in the diet. However, new research shows that the incorporation of plant-based proteins may beadvantageous. This webinar will discuss what the current research says about the relationship between protein intake and thehealth of renal patients, why vegetarian sources may be beneficial for CKD and ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease) patients, aswell as how patients can incorporate plant-based proteins safely into their diet.
