Vacuum pumps are devices that enable the removal of air and gas molecules from a sealed area to create an area that is devoid of air and/or gas. The main purpose of vacuum pump is to clean and seal. They come in wet or dry variants. It was first created by Otto Von Guericke in the year 1650. This was predated by the suction pump that goes back to antiquity. The vacuum pumps are classified on the basis of their design.
