Alloy 20 is one of the stainless steels known as ?Super? that was engineered for optimum acid attack resistance. The content of nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and copper leads to its overall resistance to the cracking and general pitting attack of chloride on stress corrosion. With columbium, the alloy is stabilized to eliminate carbide precipitation during welding.
