Once you convert the file to work with the new version, you cannot use the file with the old version. Create a backup copy and save it in a secure location for future use. It is important to realize that using the same version of QuickBooks to restore the file as it was backed up in is recommended and that trying to restore a QuickBooks backup file (QBB) using an older version of QuickBooks.
