Euphyllia are typically found in two distinctive growth forms: ‘wall’, network forming, or branching; multiple polyps split off and form their own small colony. Branching forms of euphyllia are the most popular among hobbyists because of their ease for fragmentation. Once an active growing head splits off completely, there is no need to cut through any living tissue, only the skeleton. Euphyllia tend to thrive when given passive to medium flow, medium light (150-250 par) and ample nutrient levels. To maintain optimal colouration and growth, torch corals tend to do best when they receive light in the 200-250 par range.
