As you focus on your breath, imagine that it is a vehicle your awareness is riding. You may try to notice the sensation of the point at which your breath meets your body. The way the air touches the edges of your nostrils as it enters your nose, the feeling of the air touching the inner side of your nose and travelling into your body, the sensation of your lungs filling slowly, the different temperature of the air when it enters your body (quite cold) and when it leaves it (much warmer). The idea is to find as many sensations as possible that anchor you to your breath, to help you keep your awareness fully focused on your breath.
