Ethanol is a clear and colorless liquid. It is a form of alcohol called ethyl alcohol or grain alcohol. Being an organic compound, it is used as a solvent in many beverages such as alcoholic beverages like beer, wine or brandy. It is a natural byproduct of plant fermentation and can also be produced by the hydration of ethylene. In America, ethanol is produced from corn starch, while ethanol is produced from sugarcane in Brazil. Ethanol is produced from sugarcane in India. Both the US and Brazil produce 84 percent of the world?s ethanol production.
