The Paralympic Games are finally here! While they were slated to happen in 2020, much like the Olympic Games, they had to be pushed back by a year owing to the outbreak of COVID-19. The Tokyo Olympic Games were successfully concluded earlier this month and now the Paralympic Games are here in the shadow of COVID-19. The Indian contingent has taken part in every Paralympic Games since the 1984 edition of the event. Moreover, this time around, it will be the nation's largest-ever contingent of 54 members who will be donning the Indian colours at the Japanese capital. The country is certainly hoping for a few medals from their athletes. Their best to date came at the Rio Paralympic Games in 2016, where India had bagged two gold, one silver and a bronze medal.
