Technical skills are no longer the major offerings in the modern work environment with speed and human orientation; they are no longer the drawcards to becoming a successful leader. Their difference lies in their emotional intelligence (EI), defined as the ability to understand, manage, and channel emotions positively in oneself and others. That is what emotional intelligence in leadership comprises: the myriad of direct team benefits that occur from a positive dominance influence in organizational culture.
