The barn swallow (Hirundo rustica) is the most giant species of swallow within the world. In fact, it seems to have the largest herbal distribution of any of the world's passerines, ranging over 251 million square kilometres globally. It is a one of a kind passerine chicken with blue upperparts and an extended, deeply forked tail. It is found in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. In Anglophone Europe it is simply called the swallow; in northern Europe it's far the most effective common species known as a "swallow" instead of a "martin".
