The Tattoo Machine is a helpful hand-held instrument to make a tattoo, a permanent ink mark on the skin. Tattoo Machines are small hand-held equipment that engraves tattoos on the skin. Modern tattoo machines use electromagnetic coils to move an armature bar up and down, while a barred needle grouping attached to the armature bar drives ink into the skin. Tattoo artists commonly refer to their tools as ?machine,? ?pen,? or even ?iron,? however the term ?gun? is also occasionally employed.
