Canada relies a lot on immigration to fill healthcare jobs. In the last quarter of 2022, there were 143,695 job vacancies in the Healthcare and Social Assistance category - making it the sector with the highest number of job vacancies in Canada. To address this, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is making some changes to make it easier for foreign-trained healthcare workers to immigrate to Canada, especially doctors who are already in Canada on a temporary visa.
