Cambodian officials, in the last couple of years, have found struggling with unexpected influx of couples from western countries, who are looking for cheap surrogates and the process. Not to mention the lack of laws that made the infertility treatment widely available, but risky too. Surrogacy in Cambodia was not legalized or banned before November 2016, but from this month onwards, Ministries of Health and of Justice have banned this arrangement in the nation.
