An office phone booth is a tiny, typically enclosed space with a public phone inside that is frequently constructed of glass and metal. Usually, it features a roof to shield the user from the weather and a door for privacy. There is typically a payphone inside the phone booth where customers can use calling cards or deposit monies to make calls. In the past, phone booths were a typical way for people to communicate when cell phones were not generally accessible. But as mobile technology has advanced, phone booths have become less widespread and many have been taken out of public areas. They nevertheless continue to exist in some urban areas and serve as sentimental reflections of a former time.
