In a major development, it is now being learned that Sri Lanka cricket team?s data analyst GT Niroshan has tested positive for COVID-19. This happens to be the second case in the Sri Lankan team after their batting coach Grant Flower was found positive for the infection on Thursday. The news comes as a massive setback for Sri Lanka Cricket which is gearing up to play six white-ball fixtures against a visiting Indian team starting July 13. Moreover, an estimated revenue of INR 89.7 crore is riding on the series which will be a huge sum to boost the cricket and sporting economy in the island country. Initial reports after Grant?s test came positive suggested that India series will go ahead as scheduled but it would be interesting to see if Sri Lanka Cricket is forced to reconsider their decision after the second case of coronavirus in their camp. Meanwhile, all the players, coaches and staff continue to remain in isolation.
