Southwest Airlines is a major American airline established 53 years ago on March 15, 1967, by Herb Kelleher. It was previously called Air Southwest Co., and in 1971 its name was changed to Southwest Airlines Co. It is the world's largest low-cost carrier and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. During peak travel season, it operates about 4000 departures daily. The airline has more than 60,000 employees, and in 2018 it carried the most passengers on domestic flights. As per the Department of Transportation, Southwest Airlines Reservations has the lowest number of complaints from all U.S. airlines. Southwest's focus cities include Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Miami, New York City, Washington, San Francisco, etc. Other cities acquired by the Airlines are Mexico City, Portland, Atlanta, San Juan, Aruba and many more.
