Slow and Steady Revival of Prescot, the Oldest Settlement in the County

Situated in the metropolitan county of Merseyside, England, and not too far from Liverpool, Prescot is one of the oldest settlements in this county. The well-preserved timber-framed buildings and Victorian and Georgian houses are a testimony to this. It is now an upcoming town though with plenty of new shops, homes, and houses for sale in Prescot. The permanent exhibition at Prescot Museum calls to mind the thriving clock and watch making factories that once existed there. Prescot is now going through a revival with high-quality cafes and business outlets coming up. This also heralds a boom in the café culture in Prescot with acoustic and comedy nights being introduced in certain cafés in Eccleston Street. The new theatre in Prescot which is a replica of Inigo Jones’ cockpit design also harks back to the Elizabethan Prescot Playhouse that once existed there.
