In 1983, a counsel Louis Blom-Cooper, who has died aged 92, represented Stephen Raymond in a landmark box of Raymond v Honey in a House of Lords. It determined a right of convicted prisoners to have entrance to a courts and sue a jail authorities but initial seeking a authorities’ permission.
