Providing quality disability care requires the services of competent support workers who understand the needs of the participants and behave with integrity, honesty and compassion. According to the NDIS Commission, a worker is someone who is hired or otherwise committed to offering NDIS support and services to individuals with disabilities. They carry out a wide range of responsibilities such as providing assistance with daily personal living, accompanying the participants to community activities, medication management, addressing the emotional needs of the participant and much more. The role of an NDIS support worker goes beyond just helping participants; they actively work towards strengthening the independent life skills of the participants and enable the participants to exercise choice and control over various NDIS support and services.
