Shell will pay UK tax for the first time

Shell said it would pay taxes in the UK for the first time since 2017 because it made a lot of money worldwide in 2018. In the last three months of the year, the energy company expected its profits in the UK and the EU to ?take a hit? of about $2bn (?1.7bn). Because oil and gas prices are so high, energy companies have made a lot of money, so the government has taxed them. In the end, Shell won?t say how much UK tax it will pay.
