SC Moves to End Charge-Framing Delays — Guidelines in the Works

The Supreme Court has flagged years-long delays in framing charges after charge-sheets are filed, calling the backlog a major reason for trial postponements. It has appointed Senior Advocate Sidharth Luthra as amicus curiae to help draft pan-India guidelines ensuring charges are framed within 60 days under the new BNSS law.
