Even with the youngest U8 players, the name of the game is ball control. You can?t shoot if you can?t get the ball a little closer to the goal, Tommy. That?s what the coach says, anyways. As the players develop ball control, they can manipulate the field, driving forward. They shoot. They score! Plenty of kids out there use shoes, backpacks, and buckets to mark goals ? but it?s just not the same! Get them portable soccer goals. Sloppy rounds, pickup games, impromptu practices, and all of the fun of an officiated match come together if goals are in place.
