Batting first, the Lankans put forth a stunning effort with Kusal Mendis scoring a stunning century. As Mendis departed after his 122, Samarawickrama carried the innings forward. Taking on Pakistani bowling, Sadeera Samarawickrama emerged as the perfect accelerator as he scored all around the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. After hitting two sixes and 11 fours, Sadeera completed his ton in the 47th over.
