The NDIS Practice Standards serve as a guideline for service providers to ensure quality and safe services for people with disabilities. They are a set of rules and quality indicators that define what constitutes high-quality and secure services. They set certain expectations regarding the quality of services that the participants can access from the providers. These Standards also serve as an important yardstick for the providers to evaluate themselves and verify their compliance with the quality standards set by the NDIS Commission. Practice Standards specify the level of service that one must provide to register as an NDIS provider and to maintain their provider registration. Anyone who is applying to become a service provider or looking to renew their registration is audited based on NDIS Practice Standards. As part of this audit, the providers must present documentation and evidence to prove that they comply with the Practice Standards.
