The Daihatsu 5DC-17 auxiliary engine crankshaft has a standard diameter of 145 mm. The crankpin bearing width is only 64 mm. We manufacturer of the Daihatsu engine for the reasons best known to them has designed the crankshaft to have a hardness of only 240 HB.
