Reclaimed Wood Fireplace Mantels: The traditional reclaimed wood mantel is cleaned and brushed, getting the dirt and debris off from the last 100-200 years in the structure (Reclaimed Wood Mantel), but leaving them as natural as possible. Our skip-planed finish is achieved by running the reclaimed barn wood through a planer set to only remove the high points, “skipping” over the low points. By doing this, it allows the reclaimed barnwood to keep even more of its authentic texture, character, and history.
