Radar Speed Signs

Photonplayinc28 Dec, 2023Computer & Internet

Radar speed signs, also known as driver feedback signs, employ radar technology to monitor the speed of oncoming vehicles on roadways. These devices consist of a radar sensor that emits radio waves toward the approaching vehicles and measures the Doppler shift in the returning waves to calculate the speed. The collected data is then processed by an internal control unit, which determines if the vehicle is exceeding the predefined speed threshold. If the threshold is surpassed, the system activates a visual display on an LED sign, presenting the driver's current speed in real-time.
