World number 1 Tai-Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei and China's Chen Yufei produced a spectacular display of high-quality badminton in the women's singles final at the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Olympic games on Sunday. While eventually, it was Yufei who bagged the gold medal after edging out Tai 21-18, 19-21, 21-18 in a thrilling finale, both the shuttlers were superb on the day. Unfortunately, though Tai had to settle for the silver despite playing a great game. She later opened up on the emotional moment in an Instagram post. She even revealed how India's PV Sindhu, who had bagged the bronze, prior to the singles final, shared some words of encouragement with her after the medal ceremony. Tai disclosed that Sindhu hugged her and told her how she had done well in the final but it was just not to be.
