Prohibited acts in the state of Ihram

Ihram is the sacred dress assumed only to perform Hajj or Umrah. Without Ihram Muslims cannot perform Hajj or Umrah. Few acts are forbidden in the state of Ihram and Muslims are required to keep themselves away from those acts. These are removing of hair or nails, hunting of animals, using fragrances, abusing, lying, harming any living organism like plant or tree and physical interactions between males and females are forbidden in the state of Ihram.
