Section 80D outlines income tax incentives for taxpayers who get a preventative health checkup. The taxpayer can claim deductions for preventative health exams under this clause. An person can claim a tax deduction of INR 25,000 on health checkup charges using this. Individuals, their spouses, and their dependent children can all benefit from these examinations. An extra deduction of INR 25,000 can be claimed for insurance purchased for dependent parents who are over the age of 60.
