Although students taking open-book examinations have the option of consulting their notes throughout the test, this does not make them simpler than closed-book tests. Why? This kind of Online exam still has time constraints, therefore it?s not possible to look up every question?s solution and finish the exam in that time. Exams with no restrictions on the use of notes or books are designed to test your ability to synthesize, analyze, and apply knowledge rather than memorize answers. Therefore, it is safe to assume that higher-level thinking and writing abilities will be needed to succeed on open-book examinations. The lack of preparation for an open-book test is a common problem since students find it easier to just not study for it.
