The incident where Duryodhana approaches his teacher, Guru Dronacharya, is described in the opening verses of the Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 1, Shlokas 2-3). The scene occurs in the Kurukshetra battlefield when Duryodhana surveys the Pandava army. Observing their strength and organization, he decides to seek guidance from Dronacharya, his mentor and the commander of the Kaurava army.
