POSH COMPLIANCE - Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013 is enacted to provide a legal construct to combat the issue of sexual harassment at the workplace in India. This act was modelled on the Supreme Court judgment in Vishaka v. State of Rajasthan. In general, this act along with several rules is known as POSH. A hostile work environment is the main reason for harassment. Sexual harassment occurs when an employee?s work atmosphere is abusive due to the behaviour or actions of his or her co-worker. POSH training has been made compulsory in India after this act was enacted. Every organization employing more than 10 people shall constitute ICC- Internal Complaints Committee to address complaints of sexual harassment.
