Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a complex hormonal disorder that is commonly misdiagnosed in teenage girls, especially when the diagnosis is based solely on ultrasound findings. During adolescence, it is normal for girls to have irregular periods and ovaries that appear “polycystic” on ultrasound due to natural hormonal changes.
