Poland syndrome is a birth defect. Birth defects are also called congenital anomalies. Birth defects are those defects that occur before a baby is born. Symptoms usually appear within the first year of life. It may result in disabilities that may be developmental, physical or intellectual. These disabilities may range from mild to moderate. These birth defects are either structural or functional.
