There are two types of piezoelectric sensors. That has the sensing component and uses the piezoelectric sensor effect directly. Ultrasonic sensors used in automotive rear sonar systems, gas flow metres, medical equipment, and other applications fall into the first category. A piezoelectric gyroscope is another example of this type of sensor.
