Phlegm in the throat?

Phlegm is common in the middle aged and elderly individuals especially those with allergies, flu or sinusitis and common cold. It is also common in smokers and zarda chewers. Phlegm is commonly associated with underlying condition such as stomach acid reflux, lung disease, or heart disease. Phlegm is significantly increased following the ingestion of chilly and spicy foods, exposure to cold air which results in a more watery nasal leakage.
