It is never too early for an eye exam, although it is wise to have children examined by age four. There are a number of conditions where an early eye exam is mandatory: prematurity, excessive tearing, droopy eyelids, crossed eyes or a failed vision screening. Early treatment allows for timely intervention, which is particularly important for a child?s developing eyesight.
