APPLIED VEDIC SCIENCE ? ADVANCED (VEDANTA) (SAN8110) - This advanced course explores the various interpretations of Vedanta, the final portions of the Vedas, by the various schools of philosophy. These schools have differing views and teachings on both the Vedanta and the world, both here and beyond, and the dialectical tradition among them continues to thrive till this day. Students will gain an in-depth understanding of the Vedas by studying and analyzing the ontologies and teachings of these different schools. Prerequisites: Successful completion of the Applied Vedic Science ? Basic (Vedanta) course. Sanskrit is the medium of instruction for this course. This course is only available to currently enrolled students in the Sanskrit master's certificate program at MIT-SVS. Admission into the Master Program in Sanskrit through MIT-SVS and completion of a previous MA Sanskrit course is also required.
