Vitamin D deficiency is a widespread global problem that can compromise fertility, but it can be overcome with adequate sun exposure and vitamin supplementation through dietary sources. A recent randomized, placebo-controlled study showed that taking 4,000 IU per day of vitamin D for three months significantly increased sperm count and motility in men deficient in vitamin D.
