Bone grafting is basically a minor surgical method that is done in a dental clinic. A small cut is made in the gum to have access to the bone beneath it, and further, the grafting material is added to it. Often the material used is processed bone minerals around which the body will deposit new bone cells. The oral bone grafting materials can come from your own body, but oftentimes, it is bone from a donor that has been treated in a laboratory to make it safe and sterile. On the other hand, the material can also be a synthetic substance.
