Many organizations are finding it difficult to find a single solution to meet the needs of their workforce as the workforce becomes more diverse. Some businesses may require a large number of employees with specific skill sets, while others may only require one or two. As a result, in recent years, outsourcing and subcontracting have become popular business strategies. Outsourcing is when a company hires a third party to do their work. This can be accomplished in two ways: find a company that specializes in the specific task at hand, or hire an individual who does not work for the company but specializes in that specific task. When a company hires another company to do work on their behalf, this is known as subcontracting. This can be accomplished in two ways: by hiring a specialized subcontractor or by hiring someone who does not work for the company but specializes in that specific task.
