Oud, known in English as Agarwood consisting of about 15 different species in the genus of Aquilaria, originates from the barks of trees that only grow in parts of southeast Asia. The highest quality Agarwood trees can be found in the former countries of Indochina, such as Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. The species known as Aquilaria malaccensis, found in Indonesia, is considered by many to be the best producer of Agarwood resin.
