Opposition a weak threat to government

Pakistan has seen two huge and effective mass movements against governments in 1969 and 1977. However, both of them ended up in military interventions. There is also a history of challenging election results as well. Opposition parties, instead of waiting patiently for the next general elections as per schedule, start demanding new ones.
