The North Kazakhstan State University (also known as NKSU) is a public university in Petropavlovsk, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 1994 it was transformed by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan into a state university based on the petrochemical research of K.D. Ushinskiy, whose Pedagogical College Petropavlovsk was named after him and whose history goes back to 1937. As one of the leading medical universities in Kazakhstan, the university campus consists of a first-class infrastructure with well-equipped academic buildings, a medical school and a research center.
