We normally use steels1.2344, 1.2083, 420, S136, SKD61, SKD51, bronze etc for the core parts(mold inserts, shaping parts) , some parts require titanium plating or DLC coating for high wear resistance. the steels 1.2083 and S136 both are stainless steels, they provide good corrosion resistance, rust prevention and excellent polish performance, they are good for bottle caps, lens and medical products molds.
