NFPA 1002 specifies the qualifications, training, and performance of fire apparatus drivers and operators. This includes the minimum skills and knowledge needed to drive fire department vehicles, including pumpers, aerial devices, and water tenders. It includes training in vehicle operation, maintenance, hydraulics, emergency response and safety procedures.
