New "Matter" Standard and Use in Lighting Controls

Matter is an intelligent home protocol or connectivity that promises to enable different ecosystems and devices to operate smoothly. Its development began in 2019 as CHIP (Connected Home Over IP). The project is a combined effort between the Connectivity Standard Alliance (CSA). The companies and organizations that initially formed the CSA included Google, Apple, Comcast, and Amazon. Many other organizations have since joined the CSA over the past couple of years.
